Overview

Learn how to use the Overview page to get a high-level view of your project's status and key components.

Introduction

Welcome to the Overview page—your centralized hub for managing all the core aspects of your research project. Here you can view and update your project's purpose, status, designs, keywords, products, insights, and next actions.

Project Overview

The Project Overview card combines your project's Purpose Statement and current Status, helping you to define the goals and track funding and progress.

Purpose Statement

Clearly articulate the objectives of your project using action-oriented language. Click "Edit" to modify the purpose and leverage the AI-powered rewrite tool for refinement.

Project Status

Set the current status of your project (e.g., Planning, In Progress) and record financial institution and support amount for budget tracking.

Project Keywords

The Project Keywords card lets you add, edit, and remove keywords to improve project discoverability and categorization.

  1. Click the "Edit" button on the Project Keywords card.
  2. Type in new keywords or remove existing ones.
  3. Click "Save" to update your keyword list.

Research Designs

The Research Designs card organizes your methodology across different design types, such as research, sampling, measurement, and analytic designs.

  1. Click "Edit" to switch to edit mode.
  2. Select a design from the dropdown for each type.
  3. Click "Save" to persist your selections.

Research Products

The Research Products card helps you manage deliverables like reports, papers, and analyses.

  1. Click "Edit" to start adding or modifying products.
  2. Fill in the form with name, type, status, description, and optional due date.
  3. Drag items to reorder them using the drag handle.
  4. Click "Save" to persist changes or "Cancel" to discard.

Project Insights

The Project Insights card highlights missing or recommended setup tasks and tracks overall project health.

  1. Review the list of required and recommended setup tasks.
  2. Click on a task (when available) to navigate to the relevant section.

Next Best Actions

The Next Best Actions card surfaces literature items that need attention and shows recent updates to keep you on track.

  1. Use filters to customize which actions to display by status or severity.
  2. Click on an item or the "View Details" button to open the full literature review.

  • Keep your purpose statement concise and revisit it after major milestones to stay aligned.
  • Use keywords intentionally—focus on 3-7 core terms that reflect your project's themes for better filtering and discovery.
  • Update your project status and financial details regularly to maintain an accurate progress timeline.
  • Leverage the Research Designs card to document and revisit your methodology consistently across stages.
  • Prioritize deliverables in the Research Products card to visualize upcoming outputs and deadlines.
  • Review Project Insights weekly to address required setup tasks and improve overall health.
